Shot from along the climb of Mount Tairapyo in Gunma prefecture, testing out the Olympus 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3.
It performed acceptably from 12-100mm, but fell apart post 100-200mm.
We weren’t entirely surprised, as it’s a relatively affordable optic and clearly targeted at the consumer level, but still had held out some hope that this might somehow end up being the ultimate lightweight hiking super-zoom.
Alas, it was not, and back to the store it goes in favour of our trusty Olympus M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 Pro.
