Tokyo To Vancouver

It didn’t take long after returning from Yosemite, San Francisco and Northern California to remember just how much we hate the Kanto summer heat, so off we go to Vancouver.
We’ve alluded to this in the past, but we are probably not much longer for Tokyo…
On the other hand, in a world of steadily polarising division and populist, rightest strongmen, it’s increasingly hard to find a place to live for the next few decades that isn’t already terrible or steadily getting there. And even if there were such a place, global warming still looms omnipresent in the background - we’re probably not going to be able to run out the clock on that one1.
We understand now why our fathers spent so much time engaging in solitary pursuits in nature such as hunting, fishing and camping - as Sartre put it, “hell is other people”.2
